Edwards Lifesciences rose 5.5% after likewise topping Wall Street’s expectations for profit in the latest quarter. It said it saw strength across all its product groups, and it expects profit for the full year to come in at the high end of the forecasted range it had given earlier.

The S&P increased by more than 0.6% on Monday afternoon to a record intraday high of 6,336, while the Nasdaq rose up to nearly 0.8% to an intraday record of 21,077 before both indexes pared gains back slightly.

Wall Street is muted on Friday, with the major averages looking for clear direction as investors digest the previous session’s record-setting finishes for the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite. The blue-chip Dow (DJI) hovers near even as it conitues to eye its own record high.
