The Chicago Sky have an injury problem. This week, the front office took steps toward relieving the problem by signing Turkish guard Sevgi Uzun.

Jefferson, an eight-year veteran, appeared in only five games. The Sky likely will look to sign someone immediately.

The Chicago Sky now have a 7-18 record during the 2025 WNBA season after a 15-point loss to the Indiana Fever on Sunday. They are currently in 11th place in the league standings and 5.0 games back from the Washington Mystics for the final playoff spot.

The Chicago Sky waived veteran guard Moriah Jefferson on Monday after parts of two seasons with the team. Jefferson, 31, was acquired from the Connecticut Sun in a July trade last season. In five games (one start) this season, she averaged 1.4 points with 1.8 assists.

The 27-year-old will help fill the team's point guard void, but injury woes remain. Leading scorer Ariel Atkins remains out, and two other players are listed as questionable for Tuesday's game.

On Monday, the Sky took to social media to announce they have released guard Moriah Jefferson after two seasons with the team. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 WNBA draft was acquired by Chicago via trade with the Connecticut Sun during the 2024 season.
