Canine search and rescue crews from Los Angeles County returned home on Sunday morning after more than two weeks assisting with recovery efforts from the deadly floods in Central Texas. Alys Martinez reports.

The team with the Los Angeles County Fire Department was deployed to Texas on July 8. Over the next 18 days, the specialized dogs helped rescue teams search for remaining victims after floods tore through the region, leaving at least 138 dead. Dozens are still unaccounted for.

The scrutiny on the agency comes as President Donald Trump has repeatedly questioned the necessity of FEMA and called for states to take a greater role in disaster response.
