Trump landed at Glasgow's Prestwick airport just before 8:30 p.m. BST on Friday where he was greeted by Ian Murray, Scottish secretary in the British government, and U.S. ambassador to the U.K. Warren Stephens.

President Donald Trump has played golf at his course on Scotland's coast while protesters around the country took to the streets to decry his visit and accuse United Kingdom leaders of pandering to the American.

The president was criticized by demonstrators on a range of issues, from his stance on immigration and Gaza to his ties to the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Scotland is the birthplace of Trump’s mother and a place where he owns two golf resorts, one of which is poised to open a new golf course.
