An air quality alert was issued for parts of Southern California because of the effects of the Canyon Fire, fueled by dry brush and extremely high temperatures.

The Pollution Control Agency says air quality will reach the red level, meaning it is unhealthy for everyone, in all northern and central parts of the state on Sunday morning, while the southern part of the state will be in the orange level.
